Taraxacum quadrans H. Øllg., a dandelion

A close relative of the previous microspecies, T. hamiferum, Richards' 2008 re-examination of voucher H5002 led him to describe it on the specimen as, "Taraxacum indet, possibly T. quadrans". The specimen was collected near Knockmore Hill, on a moss-covered gravelly roadside bank, 27 March 1975.

Although the identification of the Fermanagh specimen is only tentative, quite unsatisfactory, and needs to be followed up, previously T. quadrans was known only from Co Dublin (H21), where the Dandelion Handbook Map 49a plotted it in two hectads. The Field Handbook map now contains records from 17 Irish hectads, like the closely related T. hamiferum, from the Midlands west of Dublin and further south. There are no Fermanagh records included on the map.
