Taraxacum hamatiforme Dahlst., a dandelion
This dandelion was collected on 30 March 1975 at the same site as specimens of T. drucei and T. nordstedii, namely on a vertical bank on a ditch, roadside near the International border with the Republic of Ireland, NE of Garrane, 6 km NNW of Rosslea. The voucher, with Accession Number H5055, was re-determined by A.J. Richards in 2008.
T. hamatiforme is described in the 2021 Field Handbook as, "widely distributed and locally common throughout most of Britain and Ireland". In the 1997 Dandelion Handbook tetrad map, it was recorded in five rather widely scattered Irish VCs, namely East Cork (H5), Offaly (H18), neighbouring Co Kildare (H19), Co Dublin (H21) and Tyrone (H36), the latter bordering and NE of Fermanagh. The Field Handbook hectad map now shows it has been recorded in
21 squares, mainly in the midlands W of Dublin, but also to both N & S, including a few records in N Ireland (Richards 2021). This Fermanagh record does not feature for some unknown reason.
